Kellogg Community College provides web hosting services for KCC faculty and academic staff.  This web space is meant to allow faculty and academic staff to distribute instructional material to students and the academic community via the Internet.

Academic web pages are located on a server under the administration of the IS department and the Learning Technologies group. The URL or web address for the web server is academic.kellogg.edu.

Faculty and academic staff who would like to learn how to create web-based material should contact the Director of the Learning Technologies group or visit the Learning Technologies web site.

Information on all academic web pages needs to fall within the College's academic web guidelines.  The information included on academic web pages belongs to the designer of the web pages. The College is not liable nor responsible for this information.

If the content of the academic web pages violates the College's academic web policies, an investigation will result.  The investigation would include a review of the web pages by appropriate College personnel.   The web site may be shut down during the period of investigation and, pending the recommendation of the reviewing party, may be shut down either permanently or until the material in question is appropriately modified or deleted.

When considering what to place on academic web pages, keep in mind the following required policies and guidelines:

  1. The Guidelines for Computer and Communication Technology Use for the College.
  2. All web-based content should meet minimum Web Accessibility guidelines.
  3. All policies and guidelines apply to full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and all other users.
  4. All academic web pages must contain the "required elements" as identified below.
  5. These guidelines imply among other things that academic web pages must:


Required Elements of Academic Web Pages
Designers of web pages must include the following on each page within the academic web site:

  1. Name of individual who is responsible for the web page.
  2. The email address of the person who is responsible for the web page.
  3. The name of College and a hyperlink to the College's home page (www.kellogg.edu).
  4. The date the page was last modified.
